About the Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey

Since the formation of the Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey (CGAJ) in 1957, the Association has entered teams in 13 Commonwealth Games programmes, the first Games for Jersey being the VIth British Empire and Commonwealth Games held in Cardiff in 1958.

Although we are one of the smallest members of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) - Jersey having a population of 87.347 according to the 1991 Census - our Association is proud to record that we have, to date, won five medals i.e. one Gold (shooting) and four Bronze ( two in shooting and two in boxing). Traditionally, Jersey's strongest Commonwealth sports are bowling and shooting.
