Media Release - 15th March 2006

This morning, Wednesday 15th March 2006, Team Jersey's Chef de Mission, Martin Hebden; Team Doctor, Adam Garnett; Team Physio Morag Obarska; Triathlon Team Manager, Gary Jones; along with triathlete Tim Rogers met the Melbourne 2006 Triathlon Race Referee, Terry Sheldrake to seek permission for Tim to race in next Saturday's high profile event.

Tim fractured a bone in his wrist as a result of a collision with a dog while training in Jersey nearly six week's ago. A well-respected orthopaedic consultant at the M2006 Games Village has now declared that the injury has set and that Tim can now enter a four day programme of rehabilitation under the supervision of Team Jersey doctor, Adam Garnett. He will now continue his training, which has, to date, been going well, without the need of a support cast.

A stringent fitness test will take place on Friday conducted by Dr. Adam Garnett, and the management of Team Jersey is cautiously optimistic that Tim will be on the start line and fully competitive.

Tim Rogers wishes to acknowledges his appreciation to the Team Jersey management and support staff and to the medical support here in Melbourne who have all worked so hard in his interests to help him regain his fitness for next Saturday's race.
