Commonwealth History

Jersey bowlers have taken part in the Commonwealth Games for many years and although no medals have been won there have been some performances of note. In 1994 in Canada David Le Marquand finished 6 th.

In Manchester in 2002 the ladies fours of Sue Dingle, Liz Cole, Gean O’Neil and Lorraine Murphy, Karin Bisson (Horman) in the singles and S Syvret and Alison Camacho (Birch) in the Pairs all reached the last 8. The Pairs and the Fours lost their quarter-final by just one shot. The men’s pair of Allan Quemard and Tommy Greechan reached the last 8 of the Pairs and only lost by one shot.
