Opportunities for the Association's Sponsors to gain publicity in Jersey though partnership with the Association as it prepares Jersey 's elite athletes for future Commonwealth Games events.

  • The partnership with the sponsors is planned for the four year period from December 2006 until December 2010
  • The two main events during the period of the sponsorship are the 3 rd Commonwealth Youth Games which will be held in Pune, near Mumbai, India from the 12 th to 18 th October 2008 AND the XIXth Commonwealth Games which will be hosted by Delhi from 3 rd to 13 th October 2010.
  • The other event which will also provide a good opportunity to provide exposure for the sponsors will be the visit of the Queens Baton Relay(QBR) approximately 12 months ahead of the Games. The QBR is now an established tradition involving a programme of visits of the Baton to all 71 Commonwealth Countries before completing its journey with its entry into the arena for the Opening Ceremony of the Games. At this point, the high tech baton is handed to the Queen who extracts her message from the capsule within the baton and reads it to the audience of possibly 100,000 people in the host city and the millions of TV viewers around the World.
  • Our Association is in the process of setting up a programme to help the development of both ‘probable' and ‘possible' members of Team Jersey for both the 2008 Youth Games and the 2010 Commonwealth Games. This programme will provide financial support to these athletes both with their training and competition in the build-up to the Games and will also be supplemented by a number of locally-based coaching seminars on a variety of topics common to all elite athletes. The name of our sponsor(s) will figure in all publicity before, during and after these events.
  • It is the intention of our Association to keep track of all ‘probable' and ‘possible' members of Team Jersey over the next four year period and to publicise their progress in both training and competitions in an attempt to help the Jersey public identify with these athletes and help them realise their dreams in performing at this extremely high level. The name of our sponsors will be recognised and acknowledged in all media reports.
  • Other forms of publicity for our sponsors will be mutually explored with, for example, sponsor's name figuring prominently on sports bags, T-shirts, etc used by all Team Jersey members. Our Association will also be open to any other forms of publicity that the sponsors might suggest.
